Leather Care Guide
Your Leather,
Your Legacy.
Full-grain leather is a living material. Cared for properly, it improves with every passing year — richer, more characterful, and unmistakably yours.
Genuine full-grain leather is not like other materials — it breathes, ages, and responds to how you live. Unlike synthetic alternatives that deteriorate with use, leather rewards care. The wallet you buy today can be the wallet you carry for a decade. Here is how to make sure it is.
The Six RulesCare Essentials
Wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth to remove dust and surface dirt. For deeper cleaning, use a pH-neutral leather cleaner. Never use soap, alcohol, or household cleaning products — they strip the leather's natural oils.
Apply a quality leather conditioner every 3–6 months to keep the leather supple and prevent cracking. In India's dry winters or humid monsoons, quarterly conditioning is ideal. Apply sparingly and buff in circles.
If your leather gets wet, pat dry immediately with a soft cloth — never rub. Allow to air dry naturally at room temperature. Once fully dry, apply conditioner to restore moisture. Never use a hair dryer or place near direct heat.
Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight fades and dries out leather. Store your Brown Bear goods away from windows and out of direct sunlight when not in use.
Store leather goods in their dust bags when not in use. For bags, stuff lightly with tissue paper to maintain shape. Avoid plastic bags — leather needs to breathe. Never stack heavy items on leather goods.
Overstuffing your wallet stretches the leather and deforms stitching over time. Carry 6 to 8 cards for the ideal load. Your leather will keep its shape and last significantly longer.

On Patina — Why Your Leather Gets Better With Age
Patina is the gradual darkening and sheen that develops on full-grain leather through regular use and handling. It is not damage — it is the leather telling the story of its life with you. No two patinas are alike; each one is as unique as its owner.
The oils from your hands, the light from windows, the gentle friction of daily carry — all of these work together to transform your Brown Bear leather from beautiful to extraordinary over months and years.
This is why we choose full-grain leather over cheaper alternatives. Bonded leather peels and cracks. PU fades and flakes. Full-grain leather, cared for properly, simply gets richer — deepening in colour, softening in feel, and growing in character.
Your Brown Bear wallet isn't just an accessory. It is a record of everywhere you have been.
